If the Gmail crashing on android problem persists, you should try to reset your phone to its default settings. First, make sure that your Android is secure. If it isn't, you should enter your Google account details and then try again. Next, make sure that you have at least 1GB of free space on your device. If there is, you should clean it up. To view your storage space, go to Settings and tap on the "Storage" tab.
